We were lucky enough to get a visit from the Rev Diane just before Christmas to tell us what being a Christian means to her.
The children enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner followed by a party and visit from a very special person.
The parents and friends of Blackshaw Moor C of E First School were treated to a Carol Service led by the children, staff and governors last week.
The children took part in a Christmas craft day last week. Lots of fun activities took place and everyone had a great time.
Polish Easter Day
We were lucky enough to have a Polish themed Easter day last week at school. We learnt a lot of information about the traditions of Easter in Poland and were shocked to find that the Easter bunny does not live there. But on Easter Monday, everyone throws water at each other which we quite liked the idea of.
Mother’s Day Assembly
The mums of children at our school came to a special assembly last week.
This week we were lucky enough to take part in a clay workshop with Maria Lawton-Spence. We had a vision for our school and then created a tile mosaic depicting it. Every member of our school community had a part in it. We can’t wait for the finished result to be mounted on the wall.
Art Workshop Day
On Thursday we spent the whole day creating pieces of art which will decorate the school hall. Everyone showed such great enthusiasm and we all had a great day.
Water saving assembly
This week we were lucky enough to have a visit from Richard who works for Severn Trent Water. He spoke to everyone in assembly about saving water at home
The parents, teachers and children were treated to a musical afternoon when all the children who had been having music lessons performed. It was the first time lots of them had played in front of an audience but they did very well.
